SCIA Opens Inaugural Learning Village, Phnom Penh Post
9-November, 2018
SCIA Learning Village, a community platform created by Singapore (Cambodia) International Academy to facilitate experiential learning, opened its doors to students, parents and the public on 3rd November.
The event offered fun and tangible ways for visitors to learn the latest trends, cutting-edge technologies and soft skills by industry partners from Singapore, France, and Japan. The industry partners include Singapore Cambodia Business Incubator, Sunrise Japan Hospital Phnom Penh, Water Roam, Gush, Youth Ambassadors, APPress, English Premium and Global, and Dance Academy. Sabay Digital and Radio One FM 103.7 participated in the event as media partners.
Workshops were conducted by some of the industry partners including Sunrise Japan Hospital who presented a nutrition talk and offered free membership cards for health consultation to the visitors. The workshop on No-code Rapid App Maker conducted by APPress allowed participants to create an app without having prior coding knowledge. At the booths, Youth Ambassadors (YA) demonstrated interactive use of virtual reality (VR). The event also showcased companies who have built their businesses with a social cause by “Doing Good” to the communities across Asia – Gush with their award-winning air purifying paint and WateROAM’s innovative water filtration system that has enabled Asian communities to have rapid access to clean, affordable drinking water without the need for infrastructure or electricity.
SCIA Learning Village provided the opportunity for visitors to learn about various topics.
Bringing the event to a close, SCIA primary and high school students showcased their performances in “SCIA’s Got Talent”.
SCIA will launch a series of events from January 2019. Parents and children are welcome to find more details about 2019 through SCIA Facebook page – Singapore Cambodia International Academy and website www.scia.edu.kh.
