Job Description

The purpose of Executive, Network Engineering is to oversee the computer systems and database networks of SCIA to ensure proper maintenance and security.

The Executive, Network Engineering plays a critical role in ensuring all IT infrastructure and systems are running smoothly and efficiently. He/She is reporting to Head, ITS Operations and is responsible for:

JOB PURPOSE:

  • Windows Admin: Develop and manage strategies for servers and workstations, including establishing practices for provisioning, configuration, maintenance (including patching), securing, and troubleshooting.
  • On-prem / Azure AD Admin: Manage the current hybrid AD setup and formulate a strategic plan for expansion for Azure architecture services.
  • O365 Admin: Manage and strategize for Exchange, SharePoint, Security, Compliance, and Endpoint Manager
  • Secure IT Infrastructure by establishing and enforcing policies, defining and monitoring access.
  • Administer and troubleshoot operating systems (e.g., Windows, macOS) and ensure they are up-to-date and properly functioning.
  • Manage user accounts, permissions, and access controls across various systems and applications.
  • Maintain system backups and conduct data recovery operations when necessary.
  • Participate in change management activities, ensuring minimal disruption to services during planned changes.
  • Collaborate with the ITS team to implement and enforce security policies and protocols.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date documentation of IT systems, configurations, and procedures, including creation of knowledge base articles for both internal and end-user consumption.
  • Identify opportunities for process improvements and efficiencies by staying up to date with emerging technologies and industry trends that can enhancing SCIA’s IT infrastructure.
  • Identify user needs and determine network and system requirements
  • Maintain the integrity of the network, server deployment, and security
  • Lead or participate in assigned projects (e.g. migration to new systems, scheduling, installations, product research, etc.) to deliver system, network, security, and remote connectivity services to meet established organizational goals and/or objectives
  • Perform or assist in diagnosing production problems, developing root-cause analysis and resolution action plans, including technology recommendations
  • Provide monitoring, primary response, and intervention for information technology-related security incidents and violations.

Job Requirement

        (a) Academic Education / Training / Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in information technology, Computer Science, or related field.
  • At least 2 years of experience working as an IT Operations Administrator or a similar role
  • Understanding of network protocols, hardware, and infrastructure
  • Experience in server administration and virtualization technologies
  • Good knowledge of Microsoft Exchange/Office 365 administration include the architecting, configuring, and supporting O365/AZURE environments
  • Experience in managing alcatel-lucent switch, access point and network,
  • Experience in cloud environments administration with security, network and applications
  • Experience deploying, configuring, and supporting Microsoft Windows Server 2012/R2/2016/2019
  • IT certifications such as CompTIA (A+/Server+/Security+) or Microsoft Certified Solutions Expert (MCSE) will be a big advantage.
